Hosea Chapter 1
The word of the Lord comes to me every time and every season; I yearn for the word of God and it comes to me.
My marriage is a paragon of chastity and faithfulness; it is not an insult to its purpose or a decoy for sexual immorality or a caricature of human faithfulness. I shall neither depart from the Lord nor become guilty of adultery; my bosom is not for sale and my home is not a reflection of societal decadence and sexual rebellion against the Lord. My home is the opposite of Hosea’s — a practical demonstration of God’s grace and celebration of human faithfulness to God Most High; my children are legitimate and products of godly union.
My house is the opposite of Jehu’s house; we attract not punishment. I am a blessing to posterity; I shall not leave a mortal inheritance for my children.
Jezreel means “God plants,” yet the Lord purposed to uproot it because of Jehu’s atrocities in the place; I shall be worthy of my name as a child of God; my actions will not betray my name and calling.
The Lord will not stop showing love to my family, that He should hold our sins against us; we are forgiven in Christ and maintained by His grace, tender mercies and the fear of the Lord…
