Corinthians Chapter 5 (Part)
Sexual immorality and sex perversions will not lay hold on me.

I will not confuse unity with idolatry; I will fellowship with nobody who lack respect for the word of God. I am not proud of sin. I don’t trivialize sexual immorality; it grieves my spirit to see a believer fall into it.

I understand and recognize the authority of the church in Christ; I understand God’s divine enterprise and administration of grace through the church leaders. I know the power of our Lord Jesus Christ is pre- sent when believers are assembled in His name; I know the power of the church to exercise divine authority in the love of Christ, to hand over an unrepentant err- ing member to Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord Jesus.

I don’t glory in shame; I don’t underrate the corrupting power of sin — like a lit- tle yeast that works through the whole batch of dough.

Christ, my Passover lamb, has been sac- rificed; therefore, the church is a new batch without yeast, and I will not be the old “yeast” in the Body.

Therefore, I celebrate the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the new bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

–11 I don’t associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slan- derer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a person, I don’t even eat.

–13 It is my responsibility to rebuke sin and judge the wicked in the house of God; to judge the wicked outside belong to God…
