Prayer Lessons On Job

“And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually” (Job 1: 5).

“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3: 25).

Satan’s main weapons of ensnare is fear and deceit and the life of Job is a great lesson on how it works. Yes, he couldn’t touch Job until God allowed him but it is revealing to note that even after God let Satan, he chose to attack Job in the area of his fears. What he feared constantly became the door through which Satan entered to torment him.

Have you noticed that God Himself only hardened Pharaoh in the areas of his stubbornness? Meanwhile, the scripture also says that we are only tempted in the areas of our lusts (James 1: 14). Job in the first passage above was sacrificing to God out of fear and not worship; how many Christians today have become prayer machines not out of true devotion but extreme fear? How many Christians are tormented with fear today by the devil — cannot fly, will not travel, cannot enter water, etc.

I challenge you today to write down your fears and weaknesses. Use a Bible concordance to locate scripture verses that relate to them. Then select confessions written in this Bible on those verses and form it into a powerful confession for your use. You must fight your fears before they become doors through which Satan can come in to attack you. Always remember that Satan has been defeated and ridiculed openly by our Lord Jesus Christ (Col. 2: 15). To worship God and fear Satan is a miserable Christianity; reject it.
