2 Peter 3 (Part)
1 I practice wholesome thinking as well as stimulate others into it.

2 I live the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through the apostles. Christ’s message is my life.

3 Most importantly, I understand that in these last days scoffers abound, mock- ing the truth and following their own lusts.

4 Questioning the promise of His coming and scoffing about the continuation of all things as they were since our fathers died

5 I know they are willingly ignorant of the truth; that God spoke the heavens into existence and the earth was formed out of water and by water;

6 that He used water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood.

7 But the heavens and the earth, which now are, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

8 But I don’t forget this one thing: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 I am an expectant kind of person because everything will be destroyed in this way. I live a holy and godly life

12 as I look forward to the day of God and hurry it along. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat…
