Spirit Spouse

Demons are spirits and are not sex-agents. However, Satan is obviously jealous of human ability to reproduce and had done his best to corrupt both seed and procreation. In this video Emmanuel Baba-Lola examines one of such attacks on human sexuality and procreation, which is having a demonic-spirit spouse that tends to make marriage either impossible or devoid of all its purpose and blessings.

1. What is spirit husband or wife?

• A demonic spirit acting as a spouse and disturbing your marital realities or bliss

1. Why?

• The devil always like to pollute us to make us unfit for the Holy Spirit’s full operations.
• Though Satan is not a sex-agent and cannot procreate, he brazenly corrupts sex and procreation.

1 Cor. 3: 16-17, NKJV

¹⁶ Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

¹⁷ If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

1. Any Biblical Basis?

Matt. 22: 29-31, NKJV

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

³⁰ For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.

³¹ But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,

1. Jesus cannot be wrong. However, there are Scriptural challenges:

Gen. 6: 1-4, NKJV

Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, ² that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

³ And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive^[a] with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” ⁴ There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

1. Are the following passages related to the Genesis passage above?

Jude 6-7, NKJV

⁶ And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day; ⁷ as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 6-7, NIV

⁶ And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. ⁷ In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

1 Pet 3: 19-20, NKJV

¹⁹ by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, ²⁰ who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

2 Pet. 2: 4-6, NKJV

⁴ For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; ⁵ and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; ⁶ and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;

• Observations
• The term “Sons of God” are used to describe angels in the Old Testament and at times, it is used to describe actual important men, just as Elohim is used for God and powerful men.
• The original Bible languages have grammatical gender unlike English. Therefore, difficult passages may not be so difficult in the original language as you can compare gender to see what is which.
• Again, the original Bible contains no punctuations at all; wrong punctuation can change the meaning.
• The above passages on Jude and Peter have nothing to do with Gen. 6. The spirits referred to in 1Pet. 3: 19-20 above cannot be the “Angels that supposedly married human daughters” in Gen. 6. No Scripture supports it that God has salvation plan for angels. Clearly, the spirit refers to the human spirits of the dead; once a person dies, he/she become a spirit and many Scriptures support that.
• Demons are still subject to God and we see this on how God ordered Satan not to take Job’s life and even sent demons on errand (1 Kings 22: 20-23).
• Lastly, demons are evil spirits and it is obvious that they have sinned severally with many of them being chained and punished even before the great judgement. Also Satan will be chained for a thousand years during the Millennium reign after which he would be released temporarily.

1. The riddle breaker & Crucial Point

Gen. 3: 16, NIV

And I will put enmity

between you and the woman,

and between your offspring[a] and hers;

he will crush your head,

and you will strike his heel.”

• The passage above says Satan will have a “seed” and Eve will have a “seed”. Neither should have seed as only men carry seed Scripturally.
• That is why God used to punish children for the sins of their fathers to the tenth generation while He never punish them for the sins of their mothers. Heb. 7: 9-10 explains that Levi paid tithe in Abraham proving that whatever a man does, all the unborn generation in his loins have do same in him. That is why Christ can be born sinless even though Mary was a sinner too—the sin pf a woman only pollutes herself.
• Satan cannot have sex; no angel can. Like Even, his seed cannot be through sex. In Satan’s case, he could have seed by heavily possessing a human being to make him a paragon of Satan’s character. After all, he possessed the serpent to deceive Eve.
• We know Christ is the seed of the woman and the Anti-Christ is the seed of Satan. We note that “seed” is singular. However, Scripture says that many Anti-Christ are already here.
• So, the seed of the woman and the seed of Satan mean there would be two streams of mankind—good and evil and that accounts for “Sons of God and daughters of men”. There are giants after the flood. So, the passage in Gen. 6 did not mean a special breed between angels and humans. In fact, the gender of the words shows that in the original language.

1. Signs You Need Deliverance

This spirit afflicts people differently. The following are some of it (Note that the occurrence of any of this may not be due to the spirit husband. It’s usually, more than one of them):

1. Sexual punishments: impotency, frigidity, sexual perversions, sexual promiscuity, etc.
2. Inability to attract a partner at all.
3. Marital distresses, barrenness, infertility, miscarriages, spouse unfaithfulness and irresponsibility.
4. Medically challenged children.
5. resentment of marriage & of the opposite sex.
6. He covers one’s beauty and ability to be noticed or attract the opposite sex.
7. Rejection of suitors and attraction to fellows that have no interest or that are bad. This spirit often made women marry apparently wrong man.
8. He causes inability to keep relationship, lack of peace and withdrawals.
9. Sexual dreams
10. Seeing oneself married or pregnant or having children or husband in dreams
11. Appearance of the strange woman or strange man in your marriage
12. Miscarriages after certain type of dreams.
13. Fear of water/ swimming in the dream
